I Lost 25 Pounds—With A Little Help From My Fitbit

My colleagues want to know how I did it.

What diet was I on? Weight Watchers? Not this time! This time my diet had a technology assist.

My Fitbit watch monitored my steps (trying to reach 10,000 steps) and my sleep pattern. Wearing the watch is much more convenient than checking your phone every moment. A quick glance and tilt of my wrist throughout the day and I was able to stay on top of my step goal and chart my progress.

In addition, I researched foods like vegetables, fruits, meat, fish, and chicken and listed the ones that were carb free and limited in sugar. The surprises for me:

  • carrots have a lot of sugar

  • apples are heavy in carbohydrates

  • orange juice has a lot of sugar

  • avocado is a great fruit/vegetable

  • salmon is a good fish

  • feta is a good cheese

25 pounds later I’m still motivated to meet my Fitbit step goals, I’m feeling great, and I have a better understanding of foods that will help me stay this way.
